REQUIREMENTS
HARDWARE:
This

are hoping to release a Mac version soon. The minimum requirements are a Pentium 133 or higher (166 MHz
recommended) with at least 64 MB of RAM and 60 MB of free disk space.
SOFTWARE:
If you are using Windows® XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8, 10 then there should be no additional requirements. If it does not work you can always get a refund. Click

AND UNINSTALLING THE PROGRAM
NOTE:
If
you are installing a new version of Great Dialogue Software™ over
an older version, it is best to uninstall the older version before
installing the new version. DO I NEED TO HAVE WINDOWS INSTALLER®? Windows Installer® ships as part of Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 10. If you don’t have it, it’s available as a free 1.6 MB download from Microsoft. However, it is included with the CD and the download package so our installation process should install it automatically if you do not have on your computer.
INSTALLING GREAT DIALOGUE SOFTWARE© FROM DOWNLOAD After
you have downloaded the Great Dialogue Software™
file (usually named GD_Reg#.exe where "#" refers to the Version
number) to your hard drive (we recommend
creating a new file folder on your hard drive for it, but either way make
sure to remember where you put it ). Then
do the following: 1.
DOUBLE-CLICK the “GD_Reg#.exe” file.
This will unzip the .exe file and show you several files - “GD_Reg#.msi”
(.msi stands for Microsoft Installation), “readme.txt”
and “setup.exe”. 2.
We recommend double-clicking on the “readme.txt” file first, since
this may contain information that may help you avoid problems when installing
the software. 3.
Then double-click on the file with the “setup.exe” and follow the instructions on the screen.
INSTALLING GREAT DIALOGUE SOFTWARE© FROM CD Most computers will will automatically start the installation process when you put the CD in the CD drive (unless you have turned the autorun feature off). Otherwise, after you put the CD in the CD drive you may see a window appear which has several files in it. DOUBLE-CLICK the file called "setup.exe" TO UNINSTALL On most systems go to “Start”, “Programs”, “Great Dialogue” and there should be a selection on the menu called “Uninstall Great Dialogue©”. Otherwise you can click on the “Start” button on the bottom left corner of your computer screen, click on “Settings”, then “Control Panel”, and then double-click on “Add/Remove Programs”. Select “Great Dialogue©” from the list and click “Add/Remove”. Alternatively, you can double-click “My Computer” on your desktop, double-click “Control Panel” and access “Add/Remove Programs” from there. These instructions are for Windows® 98 or higher - XP, Vista and Windows 7 may use a slightly different method.

This program requires Microsoft Data Access Components® (MDAC) 1.5 or better. The CD setup should automatically update your version if necessary. Most modern versions of Windows have at least MDAC 1.5, but owing to the size of the download, MDAC is NOT included in the downloadable version. If, during the installation process of Great Dialogue Software™, you get the message that your system does not have the required version, close down the installation process and install the correct MDAC update on your computer. This update can be easily obtained for free from Microsoft. Go to www.microsoft.com and click on the "Downloads" button (usually listed under “Resources”). This will take you to the “Microsoft Download Centre” page. Under “Search For A Download” in the Product/Technology heading scroll down to “MDAC” and click “Go”. This will take you to a page where you can choose to download the correct version of MDAC for your computer. Click here to go back to Contents List (or use Ctrl+Home) PUTTING

COMMON
ERROR MESSAGES: Click
here to go back to Contents List (or use Ctrl+Home) “NO
MATCHING KEYWORDS FOUND” This
means that the words you typed into the “Search” box did not have a
match in any of the keyword database. You
can use multiple words in the search box, but not use the words “and” or
“or”, just type in the actual words or topics you’re looking for.
In this version of Great Dialogue© there are many
thousands of keywords, but we add more dialogue samples and their associated
keywords every day. Don’t forget
to check www.greatdialogue.com for our low-cost upgrades where you can add the
latest version of the database to your software.
Click
here to go back to Contents List (or use Ctrl+Home) “NO
MATCHING KEYWORDS FOUND” while using “Keyword List” Sometimes
it’s stimulating to the imagination to use the “Keyword List”
button as an “idea fisher”. To
see how to use this button, see the User Guide.
By clicking on an entry in the Keyword List, the entry will be
transferred automatically to the “Search” box and the attached
dialogue sample will be displayed. However
please note that ALL the keywords and Keyphrases are shown in the Keyword
List, but the search will be limited to comedy samples if you have pressed
the “Comedy” button, and drama samples if you have pressed the “Drama”
button, so you will frequently get the message: “no matching keywords
found”. We recommend that you
make sure the “Both” button (the default setting) is pressed before
searching the Keyword List. Click
